“Based out of Boston/NYC, Dwight & Nicole (Dwight Ritcher and Nicole Nelson) are an American roots act heavily influenced by Otis Redding, Etta James, and John Lee Hooker. Together, they have been nominated for 4 Boston Music Awards and 3 Boston Phoenix awards, and have been featured at the Tangelwood Jazz Festival. The duo’s well received “!Signs” was recorded at Rear Window Studio in Brookline, MA and features a lineup of heavy hitters.”
This Big Old Big One session with D&N is full of lively soul and passion, and pulls at you like a force of gravity while offering a more intimate perspective of the duo. Accompanied by Milt Reder on guitar, and Eran Shaysh on percussion, the super group captured three fresh cuts, including a couple of brand new soulful tunes: ‘Tomorrow’s Not Today,’ ‘Borderline’ and a cover of ‘Nanci Griffith’s – Gulf Coast Highway,’ where Nicole’s voice texture captivates the listener instantaneously.
The session was shot and recorded by Daniel DP Perry in Rear Windows Studio, and edited by him at D Perry music studio.
