Sarah Blacker
A full-time touring singer/songwriter, and part-time Board Certified Music-Therapist for children with special needs, Blacker garnered a recent win in the Radio 92.9/Boch Subaru competition, and became the voice and face of the “Ooh, ooh it’s love,” Subaru TV and radio ad campaign throughout New England in fall 2010. This year she has released her second CD, ‘Come What May,’ at the legendary Club Passim in Cambridge to a sold-out crowd of fans, and will be releasing a new EP this fall, along with heading to Germany and the UK for her first tour. Blacker has shared the stage with Jason Isbell of the Drive By Truckers, Catie Curtis, Meg Hutchinson, the Wood Brothers, Sara Bareilles, James Montgomery, Lucy Kaplansky and more.
“Blacker’s accomplished playing on instruments as varied as the guitar, percussion, and mandolin mean that she is no reluctant songwriter thrust into the spotlight, but a real songwriting musician capable of hanging with any of the Hub’s brightest offerings. Her buzz is growing with high praise from local press and radio,” was what blog, Live Music News and Reviews recently wrote, and Music Blogger, Oliver DiPlace described her latest CD saying, “Come What May is the kind of album that will start conversations about how each song should be interpreted. That is something that only fine songwriters achieve. Sarah Blacker proves here that she belongs in their company, and she backs it up with the quality of her performance.”
